Assigned Tasks/Job Duties
These are the tasks required of people working in this role/position. Other relevant tasks may be assigned as necessary and appropriate.
  • Works 1:1 with children, teens, or young adults in their homes, schools, and communities
  • Take data on observed behaviors as trained by your supervisor
  • Implement protocols (e.g. Behavior Intervention Plans) to help reduce challenging behavior
  • Attend training and utilize ABA concepts
  • Follow the prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols.
  • Assist with parent and caregiver training in line with the client’s individualized treatment and behavior reduction protocols.
  • Effectively communicate with parents and caregivers regarding client progress
  • Must adhere to the principles of ethical practices and values, and maintain client confidentiality.
  • Maintain a punctual, consistent, reliable schedule
Minimum Requirements
  • Experience working with children/teens (e.g. babysitting, instructional aide, nanny, education settings, mentor, etc)
  • Experience working with individuals with special needs
  • High School Diploma or GED; Associates or Bachelor's Degree desired
  • Experience with Applied Behavior Analysis
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English is highly desired
Typical Physical Demands
  • Lift at least 20 pounds.
  • Must be able to remain stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Must be able to move about the child's home, playground, clinic, community, or natural environment to engage in early intervention therapy.
  • Must be able to ascend/descend stairs/ladders to engage children in gross motor activities.
  • Must be able to position self on the floor to engage with children during floor-time activities.
  • Must be able to stand up from a seated position, on a chair or the floor, and follow children when they leave an area.
Job Type: Part-time
Salary: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
